ICW AP is seeking self-identifying women living with HIV with vision, dedication and passion for improving the lives of women living with HIV, to join our dynamic governance team. Our volunteer board is the strategic heart of ICW AP and we need talented individuals to join our team and strengthen our work to achieve a world where all women living with HIV live their lives free of gender oppression, realizing and claiming our full rights inclusive of sexual, reproductive, legal, economic and health rights.
ICW AP strongly encourages self-identifying women living with HIV to apply, particularly, younger women, women representing marginalized communities, women who are strongly connected to their national networks and women who bring strong practical skills such as prior governance experience,financial management or accounting, advocacy experience and communications experience.
The board membership position are individual positions. However, institutional support is critical to carrying out the duties. ICW-AP are seeking geographical representation from across the Asia Pacific Region.
OVERVIEW OF BOARD ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ICW AP Board members serve for 3 years term (starting from the nomination dates.)
- The position requires attendance at quarterly basis virtual ISC meetings, 6 annually but might be in ad-hoc basis as well. At least once a year Board members may be required to travel outside of their home country for the ICW AP Annual Meeting if resources avilable. Board members will also be required to participate in committee work.
- ICW AP Board members are required to provide strategic organizational guidance, and participate in program monitoring, evaluation and fundraising, with the goal of ensuring that ICW AP fulfills its strategic plan and mission. ICW AP is a working board and individuals must actively work with the ICW AP Regional Coordinator and participate in meetings and committee work.
- ICW AP Board members must be prepared to advocate for ICW AP and the women living with HIV we represent at the regional and global levels, as well as to provide strategic guidance and oversight for the organization.
- Board members must demonstrate commitment to effective governance and financial oversight practices and to ensure that the organization is effectively fulfilling its strategic obligations and is in compliance with Thai Law.
- Board members must allocate time for board meeting/ad-hoc meeting. If any board member miss board meetings more than three time will be automatically disqualified to serve as board member unless any serious health condition.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The selection of board members will be prioritized on the following criteria:
- Women and girls living with HIV;
- Demonstrated linkages with community networks (local, national and/or regional levels);
- Individuals with leadership experience within responses to the HIV epidemic;
- Demonstrated expertise and understanding of the scope of work of ICWAP and the opportunities it presents, particularly relating to issues of women living with HIV.
- Represents a specific community or key population including but not limited to; women who use drugs, sex workers, transgender people and Indigenous women living with HIV;
- Practical skills such as prior governance experience, financial management or accounting, advocacy experience and communications experience.
- Capacity to communicate and network effectively and broadly;
- Consistent internet, email and phone access;
- Commitment to principles of mutual trust, transparency and accountability;
- Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders;
- Openness, willingness and ability to learn, and the commitment to engage in issues of different constituencies;
As per the requirements of Thai law we are unable to accept applications from individuals who are less than 20 years of age, found as a Froud and mismanagement of fund or from anyone who has declared bankruptcy or been found incompetent or quasi-incompetent; or those who have ever been sentenced to imprisonment, except for an offence relating to negligence or a petty offence.
